I shop in all of them for brides and families, so this is how I plan it.
Chandni Chowk
Best for bridal lehengas, sarees and fabric, jewellery and accessories, and non-bridal lehengas. It also has the best prices of the markets I use.
Karol Bagh
Best for ready-to-wear festive wear, bridal lehengas, outfits for the family and the groom, and accessories.
Lajpat Nagar
Best for dupattas and accessories, affordable festive wear, and outfits for the pre-wedding functions.
Mehrauli
Best for boutiques and designer studios.
Designer studios and malls: Shahpur Jat, Select Citywalk, DLF Emporio
Best for designer bridal wear, modern and western looks, and custom designer pieces. You can try things on in comfort.
How I plan a wedding shop
Start three to four months before the wedding, so there is time for fittings and alterations. We list every function and the dress code first. In the markets, start early in the day.
